COFFEE BREAK | Astonishing Video Shows Mother And Daughter Playing Bach Double Concerto

By Ludwig Van on June 13, 2016

Over fifty years ago, violinist Shinichi Suzuki realised that by using basic principles of learning a language, he could instil in children a kind of musical mother-tongue, that will follow them for the rest of their lives. The method also encourages parents to become involved, and sometimes even learn along with their children.

With a little encouragement (and some natural talent) this video proves just how powerful the Suzuki method can be.

Here, the video shows a mother and daughter performing the first movement of Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor, together, and the results are truly astonishing! Hopefully, we’ll be hearing more from this little girl in the future.

N.B.: Joshua Bell, Rachel Barton, Hilary Hahn and Leila Josefowicz, and Lara St John were all Suzuki students.
