About

The Hogtown Brass Quintet is a Toronto-based chamber ensemble dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the traditional brass ensemble.

Formed in 2013, the Hogtown Brass Quintet (HBQ) is a collaboration among five accomplished and diverse musicians, committed to presenting unique concert experiences, entertaining and informative educational programs, in addition to bringing brass chamber music to new audiences.  Its mission is to present traditional brass repertoire alongside new, distinct works to reinvigorate the classic brass quintet.

The members of HBQ reflect diverse musical backgrounds, from Classical to pop to jazz.  Dedicated to education as well as performance, the HBQ is experienced in presenting music to people of all ages in a variety of settings.

Press

“The Hogtown Brass performed a wonderful concert for my high school band students.  Their performance was excellent and it was obvious they are all  extremely accomplished musicians.  Their performance and obvious passion for what they are doing left my students excited about music and their own instruments.  I will definitely have them back for an encore performance!”

– Nancy Flood, Band Director, Riverdale Collegiate Institute

“The Hogtown Brass Quintet helped create musical magic on the train platform during Santa in the Junction. Their style of music fit in perfectly with all the unique elements of the Junction and the holiday season”

– Jessica Myers, Executive Director, The Junction BIA
