Thursday, June 26, 2014 // Toronto, ON – Soundstreams announced today the appointment of Susan Worthington as its Executive Director. She replaces Chris Lorway, who is leaving at the end of the summer to take on the role of Director of Programming with The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Susan Worthington as our new Executive Director,” says Bernard Schiff, Chair of the Soundstreams Board of Directors. “It is hard to imagine we could have found a person in Canada better suited to the work, the goals, and the spirit of Sounstreams. We consider it our great good fortune that she is able to join us at this time and we all look forward to working with her in the years ahead.”

Of the appointment, Lawrence Cherney, Soundstreams Artistic Director, commented, “Susan is perfectly placed through experience, skill, and her passion for contemporary creation to build handsomely upon the foundation we have built over the last two years. I am confident she will play a vital role in forging even more exciting new partnerships for Soundstreams at the local, national and international levels.”

Worthington takes on the new position with more than twenty years of producing and management expertise in opera, theatre and classical music.
