You can try riding along with the Valkyries in today’s opera broadcast on CBC Radio 2, from the Metropolitan Opera’s second run through the full Robert Lepage-conceived Wagner Ring Cycle.
The radio broadcast runs from noon to 6 p.m.
Also on this afternoon, from the Berlin Philharmonic’s pay-per-view HD-streaming service, is Los Angeles Philpharmonic music director Gustavo Dudamel leading a performance of Erich Korngold’s lovely Violin Concerto (being played by Toronto Symphony favourite, Leonidas Kavakos) and Richard Strauss’s always-impressive Also sprach Zarathustra.
